GLS alumna Jean Anne Casey (AM 1990) passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016. A friend and fellow GLS alumna shared her memories of Jean: "She was one of the early MALS group and a friend to many. While going through the program she ran Casey and Company, a stationery company based in Brightleaf Square in Durham, while raising her daughter Anne and her son Mike. Thoughtful, compassionate and warm, she had a lovely sense of humor and often said that MALS was a very special and important experience for her. She used to say it kept her growing. After she left Durham and returned to her native Oklahoma she started a successful pecan business along with her sister. She will be missed by her family and friends and was a role model for many."
A memorial service for Jean Anne Casey Merritt will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in the Hennessey First Methodist Church, 201 S. Cherokee, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Cards or letters can be mailed to: Mike Casey, P. O. Box 185, Hennessey, OK 73742.
