Join us this Thursday, May 13, at 5 PM Eastern, for a special Exemplary Master's Project Porch Sitting, and each Thursday after that through June. The Zoom meeting link will be the same every week.
GLS House remains closed until further notice. GLS staff are working remotely and may be reached via email.
Office Hours with Anne have ended for the semester and will resume in August.

Join us this Thursday, May 13, for a special Exemplary Master's Project edition of Porch Sitting! This year's awardees will share a bit about their projects during our regular time, 5-6 PM Eastern. The meeting link is our usual porch sitting Zoom link.

Master's Project Planning Session Scheduled for June 6
If you have already taken your fifth course in the program, or plan to take it this summer, you need to register for the Master's Project Planning Session on Sunday, June 6, 2:00-4:30 PM Eastern. This Zoom session will get you up to speed on the process that leads up to the master's project and on to graduation, and fill you in on program expectations for master's projects and proposals. It is required for all full-time students who are in the semester of their 5th class, and all part-time students who are in the semester of their 5th or 6th class. To register, contact Kent Wicker

AGLSP Announces Call for Presentations
Duke GLS is a long-standing member of the Association of Graduate Liberal Studies Programs. This year's annual conference will be held in a virtual format October 14-16. They are looking both for academic presenters and for storytellers who would like to participate in exploring the theme, Unmute Yourself: Voice, Representation, Power. The deadline for the Call for Presentations and the Story Slam is June 15.
Duke students have presented at the AGLSP conference for several years. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, contact Kent Wicker.
TGS Kicks Off Summer Professional Development Series
Swing into summer with this 5-workshop #GradProfDev series, May 10-14. Attend 3 out of 5 and get a free code to complete the CliftonStrengths assessment. Topics covered: transferable skills, career option research tools, resources for master's students, LinkedIn tips, leading different personalities.

- The Duke Student Assistance Fund was established better support master's students who may be experiencing difficulty providing for their basic needs during this extraordinary time.
- Blue Devils Care is a new mental telehealth service that can provide support wherever you may be located currently. You can access the service by using the key DUKE2020.
- The Career Center now offers online drop-in advising for graduate students on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. View the schedule here.
