Message from Duke F1RSTS:
Hello all! We are Duke F1RSTS, the community of first-generation graduate students at Duke. Our organization supports Duke’s first-gen graduate student population by providing resources for professional development and opportunities to network and socialize. We host socials, organize career and resume workshops, collaborate with UNC to hold an annual first-gen conference each spring, serve as mentors to Duke undergraduate first-gen students, and more.
You can learn more about Duke F1RSTS through our website: https://sites.duke.edu/dukef1rsts/. If you are interested in being added to our listserv to receive notifications on all our events and opportunities or simply want to know more about our organization, please email us at dukef1rsts-request@duke.edu. We hope you will join us on December 2nd to renew our ties, make new friends, and otherwise celebrate the season, life, learning, and the connections and enrichment that our intellectual community provides. We will have indoor and outdoor spaces available; feel free to dress warmly (if it's actually cold by then) if you'd rather visit or eat outside, and bring a mask to wear when visiting indoors. We'll have some containers available if you would rather get a little food to take home to enjoy later. Check your email for details and to RSVP.
