Student Seeks Subjects for Master's Project Research Study
GLS student Leonora Minai invites individuals who have lost a loved one in a fatal car crash in North Carolina, to consider participating in the North Carolina Fatal Car Crash Grief Research Study. The purpose of this study is to assist people who have lost someone in a crash, promote roadway safety and help individuals who develop grief services. Alumni Spotlight:
Melody Hunter-Pillion
GLS alumna Melody Hunter-Pillion was recently interviewed on WUNC's The State of Things with Frank Stasio. Melody, a 2012 GLS grad and currently a PhD candidate in Public History at NC State University, conducted oral histories of Black farmers and fishermen in Brunswick County for an audio documentary project she presented at the Black Communities Conference last week. Free Books in GLS Student Lounge!
Beloved former director Donna Zapf KonMaried her possessions for her move back north and left a treasure trove of books free for the taking. Please stop by and have a look - you never know what gem you might uncover.

Bass Connections Invites 2020-21 Project Proposals
Bass Connections is now accepting proposals for 2020-2021 projects that engage faculty, undergraduates and graduate/professional students in the interdisciplinary exploration of complex societal challenges. Please see the project proposal guidelines. The deadline to propose a project is November 4 at 5:00 p.m.

GLS Homecoming Open House
October 11, 4-6 PM - Join us for our second annual Homecoming Open House on Friday, October 11, at GLS House. We would love to see you there. Registration is now open for alumni who plan to attend Homecoming events campus-wide. Be sure to look for the Graduate Liberal Studies icon (pictured at left) under Groups so you can add your profile and connect with other GLS grads.

Mondays, 5:30-6:30 PM - Director Anne Whisnant invites GLS students, faculty, and alumni to join her on the porch on Mondays from 5:30-6:30. Come share a chat, a drink and some snacks! No registration or RSVP needed, just drop by.
